Succulent Circus

Annabelle--you inspired me with your email! It's raining today so I couldn't take a lot of pictures outside, but I took a few, brought a couple inside to pore over their labels (and in some cases figure out what ones sans label were), and found some pictures from earlier this summer. The succulent I talked about with a caudex which is trying to grow new leaves is an Aeonium but it's out in the middle of the wet yard. So here it goes:

Gasteria

Echeveria [left] Subsessillis, [middle] 'Doris Taylor', [back] 'Perle von Numberg'
Echeveria 'Pink Frills'
(see the little pools and droplets of water from this mornings' rain? Awww!)

Sedum 'Burrito'
This is the ultimate "wah-wah"--that's right, you know you want to do it!
Pinch it and go "Wah-Wah"!

Aloe 'Mosaic' and some form of hens'n chicks style succulent that I think you gave me. This picture is from July and the aloe is bigger now, but hasn't outgrown the pot. Also from July--the faux stone plant did not survive--I have the worst luck with these; they always rot on me. But anyway, in the back is an Adromischus, the label calls it a "Cameo Plant" but I've seen it called "Plover's Eggs" online, either way it's pretty cool. Also two Anacampseros telephiastrum 'variegata' from South Africa

Ooooooooh, those are very naaice!

I might have E 'Doris Taylor' - I'd be happy to find an id for my plant, so thanks, Vic; I'll check into that. Whatever I have is awfully hardy. I left it outside one winter (don't ask!) and, although it lost all of its leaves, it grew back just as fine as could be in the spring. Really amazing. If yours offsets, you might try planting an offset in the ground.

I, um, think my circus is bigger than yours. (But we know size isn't /everything/.) I have an awful lot of succulents. I'll see about taking & sending more photos. Thanks for yours - they
re wonderful.

Oh - I b'lieve you have 2 Echeveria in that last photo. Try googling E. purpusorum to see if it looks like yours. The Adromischus in that picture is A cooperi, I think. I have 2 different Adromischus - want to exchange leaves in the spring?

And NO, I will NOT wah-wah the plants!

WAH-WAH!

Well, I'll have to photograph the cactus collection next! Did you see the pic of the lace cactus that I got at Ladybird? I'm going to plant that in the yard, and I've put in a few echeveria that weren't doing so well in the pots. Tough thing though is that I've lost several hens n' chicks in the front of that bed. Apparently they just burned up!

Wait--I'm so confoozled! The label with those last two said Adrowhatever, but it DOES look like E. Purpwhatever! Oh well, this is what happens when you buy things at box stores, transplant them several times, and have heavy winds. Sometimes my things DON'T have labels--or, as I discovered when I looked at my cacti this morning after a lot of wind the last couple of days, the labels get blown away--I corralled a couple but I'm still missing one. Or they are labelled incorrectly. I think I just put the Adromischus label with something that looks like it... And I'm going to make a label for the E. P. Thanks!
