Bloomin' in late Jan./early Feb.

We had a couple of weeks of night-time temps in the thirties, some around freezing, but we are now in the upswing toward spring. As witnessed by the bulbs I spied sending up their leaves on Jan. 31:
Yup, it's a hyacinth! A purple-red Jan Boos I think...

And lookit! Pansies still going strong!
And--Oh My!!! Is that a daffy-down-dilly??
IT IS!!! IT IS A DAFFY-DOWN-DILLY!!!!
Okay, I cannot tell a lie--I actually purchased this in bud yesterday from Wally-world, but I put it in the ground and here it is! Woohoo! Can't do that Up North!! Here's another one, just to rub it in:
The plan for the morning is to get up and plant the species tulip bulbs I ordered in the fall and didn't get planted before the holidays. Some of them have shoots in the bags, and I'm sure they'll shoot right up when they are in the ground. We're in for 2 more unseasonably warm days and nights, and then heading back down into the 60's/30's mid-week, then working our way back up toward the weekend. I actually put a lot of the houseplants out this weekend to let them get some of the nice damp-ish air and sunshine--they are starting to look quite peaked from the dry house air, as are we, so this is a nice break, even though I'll have to bring them all back in Tuesday afternoon.
